App DevelopmentA privacy-first QR code communication system that lets anyone reach you — without knowing your phone number. Stick it on your car, door, pet collar, or luggage.
Challenge
Every time someone writes their phone number on a car dashboard note, a luggage tag, or a door sign, they expose their identity and personal data. With 68M+ phone scam reports filed globally each year and 25M+ bags mishandled by airlines annually, people need a way to be reachable without sharing personal information.
Solution
Built a privacy-first communication system using QR code stickers. Anyone who needs to reach the owner simply scans the code with their phone camera — no app needed for the scanner. A secure web page opens instantly where they can video-call, send messages, or share files. All communication is end-to-end encrypted using ECDH P-256 key exchange with AES-256-GCM encryption. The KnoQ owner receives notifications via the Android app and can respond from anywhere.
Outcome
KnoQ is live with an Android app on Google Play (iOS coming soon). The system supports multiple use cases — vehicles (double-parked car alerts), homes (delivery notifications), pets (lost pet recovery via video call), luggage (airport bag recovery), and any valuable item. The service is 100% free with no ads, no subscriptions, and no data exploitation.
